Commercial and Corporate Affairs Backgrounder

The Commercial and Corporate Affairs Branch is responsible for the regulation of the financial institution industry in the Province, provincial lotteries, consumer affairs, landlord-tenant relations, firearms acquisition and registration, and the registries of deeds, companies, bills of sale and co-operatives.

There will be an increase of fees for a variety of licences administered by the Commercial and Corporate Affairs Branch of the Department of Government Services and Lands. The increases are necessary in order to standardize the fee rate bases among all the licenses of similar type and to bring the license more in line with the actual cost of administration. Following is a list of the types of fees and increases related to the Commercial and Corporate Affairs Branch of the Department of Government Services and Lands:
