In lifting the hiring freeze, Government has allowed the hiring
of five additional positions which will improve a client's
ability to collect child support. Fiscal year 1996/97 will
represent the first year for implementation of this initiative.
This measure will benefit clients, effect efficiencies within the
department, and result in savings to Government.

* Empowers clients
* Clients receive benefits which continue even after they exit the Income
Support Program
* Staff will assist clients in obtaining support orders and voluntary support agreements
* Effects efficiencies within the Department and savings to Government
* More clients will receive funding to which they are entitled, from sources other
than social assistance.
